REMNANT PRINT
Everyday, across the country, marketers like yourself are looking for ways to get the most advertising for their buck. Let’s face it, advertising is highly negotiable…and it doesn’t matter if we’re talking TV, cable, newspapers, inserts, radio, it seems like no two advertisers are paying the same rate. Media reps are employed to GET THE HIGHEST RATES POSSIBLE FOR THEIR INVENTORY. Remember the old saying, “You don’t get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate.” We’re heard advertisers boast, “We never pay rate card.” So what’s a “great” deal to you? 10% off rate card? 20% off? 25% off? We just placed an ad in a national magazine for one of our clients on a remnant basis. We paid $16,000 for the page on a remnant basis. Yet the average cost of a full page in the magazine is over $70,000 and if you asked just about every advertiser in the magazine, they’d tell you they get a great deal too! It is in a way much like Airline seat pricing!
Let the other guy think he’s getting a great deal. Superfriends will enable you to purchase targeted direct response advertising at a fraction of the cost of what most advertisers are currently paying. Period.
Here’s how we do it….
Perhaps a magazine rejected an ad, or a newspaper is waiting for a client’s check to clear. That’s where Superfriends steps in. We have created a vast network of remnant and standby media options in…
Newspapers
Magazines
Shared Mail
FSI’s (Free Standing Inserts)
We negotiate with media companies who notify us when remnant inventory is available. Our understanding with the media is that we will only offer the advertising space to our clients on a confidential basis, so that the media is able to maintain their “rate integrity” in the marketplace. Often this space can be bought from 50% to up to 80% off rate card.
We can and do work with the biggest papers in the biggest markets, including several major national titles. That said, many of our clients get their best results from low circulation, small-market papers because the costs are so low.
Newspapers usually get "holes" in modular blocks – quarter, half and full page ads. Typically, we allow the newspaper a two week window to clear remnant ads to get the lowest pricing, however, often one week and 3 day clearance windows are offered as well.
Superfriends would welcome the opportunity to discuss our remnant print program with you.
If you've never managed print advertising before, you may not know what you're getting into. Since 2001, Superfriends Marketing and Promotions Group has been using it's advertising industry experience to help our valued customers stake their claim on this challenging form of media. We've placed ads in noteworthy publications like Newsweek, Los Angeles Times, Businessweek, Money Magazine, Success, Fore, Orange County Register, Vegas, Skylights, Blender, LA Weekly and TIME Magazine. Print ads may seem simple on the surface, but without the support of inside-industry tricks and tips, you may not be getting what you bargained for.
Understanding editorial calendars, agency discounts, 12x insertion rate, etc. are all aspects of your print advertising campaign that are better left to the experts. Experience has taught us that not all print advertising is equal. Much of the burden lies in choosing what publications best fit the customer segments of a client. Determining the target demographic, and nuances such as messaging and tone requires extensive research and a fair amount of professional expertise. Without the right team to guide your efforts, you can end up wasting money on advertising that will not yield results.
At Superfriends Marketing and Promotions Group we almost always include targeted and professional print materials in our integrated marketing strategies. If you'd like to learn more about print ads, whether in magazines, newspapers or journals, give us a call or contact us via email for a free 15-minute marketing analysis. We can help identify which publications can give you the greatest return on your investment, as well as help you explore other advertising avenues to complement your print ad campaign.
Do Magazine Ads Really Work?
Effective magazine ads are more than just words on paper or an eye-catching picture. The challenge of print advertising involves captivating the reader at a moment's glance and motivating that person to take action. Our ads succeed at getting prospects to make a toll-free call, check out a website, or purchase a new product. Our efforts are strategically intertwined with other marketing channels—and our results are measurable, guaranteed.
Magazine ads can be very effective in their own right, however, mixing print ads with an integrated marketing approach helps to solidify your brand identity and lead to much larger returns of sales and leads. Single, sporadic marketing attempts usually don't succeed at achieving marketing excellence, and if you want to get the most out of your money, then you need to work with a dedicated and experienced marketing team that manages every aspect of your advertising strategy: a team like Superfriends Marketing and Promotions Group
Any agency can place magazine ads, but Superfriends has mastered artistic and effective placement strategies that deliver results. We provide the full service: Superfriends can identify must-have publications, negotiate affordable rates and craft award-winning layouts. Can your current agency match that?
If not, we encourage you to contact us. One of our talented staff members would enjoy the opportunity of sharing past success stories with you. You can also view some of our greatest accomplishments yourself in the clients section of our website. There you can read about successful radio spots, magazine ads, and television insertions that have helped our clients jumpstart lead generation and increase new sales.
